Sep 27, 2018 MacOS Mojave Incompatible Updated on Older Mac Devices Post completion of the installation, please boot off the USB again and this time, from the Utilities menu option select âmacOS Post Installâ and in this application please select your Mac Model (which you noted down earlier) and the partition on which you installed Mojave. Mountain Lion (OS X 10.8) Lion (OS X 10.7) Get an external drive and maybe an adapter. Mac catalina wallpaper for windows. The macOS Mojave installer software is just over 6GB, so you need a USB external drive that can hold that.
Hey VelocityGames,
Thanks for reaching out about the issue you're having installing Mojave. I'll be happy to help out. Do you have any external hard drives or peripherals connected to your Mac? If so, remove them and try the installation again. If that doesn't work, create a test user account and then download and install the macOS Mojave update using this test user account: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac - Apple Support Let us know if you're able to install the update using that test user account. Cheers!

In Snow Leopard if you try to install a program while another is installing you get an error message saying âWaiting for other installations to complete.â But what do you do if the message stays there after the program has finished installing?
https://skyeyos.weebly.com/blog/preview-app-for-mac-yosemite. Today I was stuck with this message even though there was no installation in progress. The computer wonâtâ restart as it wantsâ to wait for the update to finish first! https://skyeyos.weebly.com/blog/m-audio-410-replacement-for-el-capitan.
The first option around this is to âforce quitâ the installer. Press Apple-option-esc then select âSoftware Updateâ and âForce Quitâ.

If that doesnât work try deleting the following 2 files from your Library/LaunchDaemons.

Mac Waiting For Other Installations To Complete Os X Mojave Not Detecting External Display
Didnât work (files are in the /System/Library folder, btw); âsudo killall installdâ did. Restart should also resolve it.

Worked well for me, was needed after a crash during Snow Leopard update process. After this trick the installer sailed through very smoothly.

Open Terminal in /Applications/Utilities and type âsudo killall installdâ with no quotes. It will then prompt you for your password. Type it in and it should do it.

Download mediatek usb vcom drivers. Remote desktop connection client 1.0.2 for mac os x. I just held the power down and restarted, then relaunched the update and itâs working fine :-)

Force quitting and then restarting and then checking for updates again worked for me, too. I didnât need to go into Terminal. This hang for me happened at the same time that I was doing an update using the App Store App. Both updates stopped working at the same time. This solution fixed both of my problems. BTW I got a âhard disk almost fullâ message right after the fix. This could have been a definite factor in updates hanging.

I tried âsudo killall installdâ and the first time it asked for my password but stopped responding, and after that it never prompted me for my password.
ReplyStrausssays:February 10, 2013 at 5:09 am
i did force quite it and update then again open the installer, and now they stuck on waiting for other installation to complete. ReplySLsays:May 5, 2013 at 8:16 am
any ideas?
THANKS SOOOO MUCH!!! âsudo killall installdâ worked great. After almost paying the exorbitant fee apple charges for their terrible customer support and lugging a 24â³ iMac into the genius bar where they were too incredibly stupid to fix it, not to mention they thought the only solution would be to wipe the entire computer and then MAYBE it would work after we reinstalled everything, I was glad to find this.

Restart of my iMac solved the problem. Did not try âsudo killall installdâ first though.
